of our nation's most horrific, unsolved crimes dating back to the year 1912.
The location has been investigated by hundreds of paranormal teams including the likes from such television shows
as Ghost Lab and Ghost Adventures. The location has been been featured in numerous shows and books. Known as a paranormal hotspot.
The History of the J. B. Moore House
The Villisca Axe Murders occurred during the night of June 10th, 1912 in the home of J. B. Moore. The six members of the Moore family and two house guests were found bludgeoned in the house on the morning of June 11th, 1912. All eight victims, including six children, had severe head wounds from an axe. A very lengthy investigation produced several suspects, one of which was tried twice and acquitted. The crime remains unsolved to this day.
The victims included J. B. Moore (43), Sarah Moore (39), Herman Moore (11), Katherine Moore (8), Boyd Moore (7), Paul Moore (5), Lena Stillinger (12) and Lena Stillinger (8).

Personal Experiences -- 1) Investigator is witness to a ball bouncing in the children's closet upstairs.
2) Two investigators hear a disembodied voice of a small child in the downstairs parlor, voice was captured on a recorder.
3) Investigator scratched on the back on the neck upstairs near or in the attic.
4)Investigator feels sensation of someone playing with his feet as the group sleeps downstairs in the parlor.
Debunked -- (Ball rolling on the floors) We found this to be most commonly caused by the
unlevel condition of the floors, particularly in the parlor.
