Background History
Located in Augusta County Virginia, the Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Steeles Taven is a beautiful cemetery to visit. The
cemetery is pre-civil war and does contain the graves of many confederate soldiers. It is also just a few miles from
where the Cyrus McCormick farm is located, inventor of the reaper in 1831.
